Izreen's Incidental Issues

A little insight into Izreen's issues, be it mega or minute..

Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Normally, I am rather lazy in replying to tags and awards and such. Apologies, folks, but sometimes I am too pre-occupied with other incidental matters. However, this time round, since I am still in my mogok kerja mood, I shall reply to the tagged entry courtesy of Sis and KakLong. But it did mean that I had to crack my head like crazy trying to figure out what 16 usefull(or less) facts to know about myself.

Directions: Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a blog/Facebook note with 16 random things, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose 16 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment or tag them in your note to read this.

1. I can be pretty social, but when it comes to close friends, I turn to be the Listener most of the time.

2. I can’t sleep in a car driven by others. Actually, it’s more of I don’t dare sleep in a car or moving vehicle driven by others. It so happened to be a blessing in disguise on one occasion whilst we were travelling to the NottsGames in a chartered bus early in the morning and the blasted driver nearly fell asleep at the wheel. Fortunately, I managed to sergah him awake just in time. Daymn. However, if I’m really, really tired, I can sleep anywhere, anytime, anyhow – take for example the time I fell asleep in a cubicle in HardRockCafe whilst everybody else was party bopping around me. I was really exhausted yet went out for relaxation. Apakah? Anyway, old story leh.

3. I think I am selectively psychic at times. Selectively, I must stress. There were two occasions where I dreamt of friends with buns in their tums – waves hi to Rynne and Loly! – way before they announced it. Yet, I daren’t mention the fact to them until a few months later when they broke the news in public. Then there have been several occasions when I pre-empt what the Boss is about to say or do or have a premonition of when the hot fat is about to hit the fan and splatter into a big mess.

4. If Sis takes after Mumsie in her shopping habit, I take after Mumsie in her style sense. Little wonder why I am constantly in her stuff, wading out her nice clothes, shoes and jewellery. What can I say, we are almost the same size and love the same chunky stuff. Occassionally, Mumsie will discover her stuff has migrated over to her eldest long after her eldest has appropriated them. Thanks Mumsie!

5. 75% of my clothing apparel are black in colour, but occasionally, you will find me in a shock of colour - red, greens, purple, gold being colours of choice.

6. I lost a huge amount of weight for my wedding, put it back on during my pregnancy with Inky, lost some and the remainder seems not to have shifted. Hahahaha. Hopefully, when Impy finally emerges end of March, the solidified mass stuck around me would melt away and I will be able to drape my wedding outfit on myself again – provided No. 3 doesn’t make an appearance of course.

7. I am a closet nerd. If I decide to study I will study all out to the extent where I cease to have a social life whatsoever. I did this for my SRP, ALevel, CLP and ICSA exams. Hence during those periods, I cease to be a social butterfly, get into my sleep at 8.30 pm and wake up at 3 am just to study. Alhamdulillah, I managed to ace those papers (of course at the expense of having a proper relationship, but heck I was too young then anyway).

8. When cooking, I almost never measure my ingredients. I weigh them with my eyes and instinct. And I hardly ever taste my own cooking for it’s relative degree of saltiness or blandness before it is served – I can’t trust my tastebuds then. So far, it’s been pretty good, despite the lack of measurements, be it cakes or dishes. So, if anyone asks m for recipes, all I can provide is the campak-campak methodology.

9. I can read and read and read. But at the moment, my passion for reading has waned a bit, mostly due to the lack of time I have to indulge in them. When I was younger, I used to devour them encyclopaedias for my bedtime stories. Many a time the Parents have had to switch the night light off as I had dozed off with my nose between the pages of ST and SU, for example. However, as time went by, I preferred light noveld and romance as my reading material. Bring on the Mills&Boons.

Heh… baru No. 9? Daymn..

10. I have a memory of goldfish. In studying, I could never memorise from solely reading paragraphs of text (and me a law student, I know… pretty impossible). So, I compensated by taking in loads and loads of notes and doing pages of mind maps, each mind map chapter compressing the subject matter till I get the bare essentials all in a page.

11. I might be brought up as an Orang Muar, but I prefer not to eat asam pedas. How is that so? Beats me, hahaha. I prefer anything masak kicap.

12. I like being a teachers’ pet (or so my friends claim). I remember Datin Rose, my Std 2 English teacher altering my final year English exam results as she claimed it was pretty minor. And then there was err… many other teachers down the line. Teachers were my friends, not the all evil enemy of schooldays.

4 more facts to go…..

13. I don’t wear much makeup. Upon waking up and taking my shower, I wash my face with an apricot scrub and then Oxy cleanser, then slather a thin layer of Oxy10, before putting on another thin layer of SPF30 whitening moisturizer (not like it has a brilliant effect anyway) then slapping on bedak buku amoi on my face. Yes, I wear bedak buku RM1.50 (or it used to be before the price hikes) on my face instead of foundation. Oh, and I apply my makeup with fingers – eye shadow and blusher – before smearing my lippie on. My whole make up routine can take me approximately 5 minutes.

14. I try to be frugal with my expenditure. Bordering on cheapskate-ness at times. I can go in from one shop to another just to find the best deal available, be it a handbag, top or jewellery. I get abuzz out of getting a great deal. Sometimes, the deals in terms of price and quality can be found in cikai places. And yes, I admit to being a purveyor of Mydin for certain items.

15. I am a tree frog lover. I have stashed away a collection of green tree froggies which need to be unearthed and given a new home once I have received a new lappie and moved to my desired cubicle.

16. I am anal and meticulous in planning. For anything under the sun. Every important moment of my life involved lists a mile long. Well, lists keep me in track and they make my life easier, so I much appreciate them more. And keep all this log book of lists, believe it or not. Because of this, I seem to be clearing out messes wherever I go. Gee… thanks.

Sekian, my 16 facts. Which took my almost the whole of my mogok day at (non) work.
